Melissa Loson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both New Mexico and New York. She earned a dual bachelor’s degree in sociology and women’s studies and a master’s degree in clinical social work from the State University of New York. She is also a Certified Reiki Master Teacher, supporting her holistic approach to the healing process. Melissa is a skilled therapist with more than 20 years of experience in such settings as family court, domestic-violence and homeless-community agencies, outpatient hospital clinics, and private practice. She has served as a lecturer in both undergraduate and graduate counseling programs. Melissa’s multi-disciplinary practice helps develop successful strategies for positive change and wellness. Beginning with trauma informed care, she respects the unique qualities and strengths of every individual, offering compassion in a safe and confidential environment. Melissa practices both Solution Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy styles, utilizing creative arts, mediation, and mindfulness. Raised in upstate New York, Melissa has a love of nature that continues in beautiful New Mexico. When not working, she enjoys the outdoors, cooking, gardening, music, and spending time with her loved ones.
