Melissa Ayrado, LMFT-A


Melissa Ayrado is licensed by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council as a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate (LMFT-Associate), supervised by Cheryl Rogers, LMFT-S, LPC-S, EMDR. She earned her graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University where she was on the Dean’s List. Melissa is currently a member of the Alpha Ki Honor Society, the MFT Honor Society, and is also a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. While working on her degree she spent five years as a high school English teacher, where she worked with adolescents struggling with academic disabilities.

Melissa is experienced working with elementary aged children, adolescents, and young adults, in both an individual and family setting. She also enjoys working with couples and specializes in premarital and marital counseling. She has experience treating clients struggling with ADD/ADHD, anxiety, depression, peer issues, academic and behavioral issues, self esteem, suicide ideation, self harm, relationship issues, co-parenting, and stress management.

In her practice, Melissa provides a person centered approach, while also using a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy models. She believes in supporting clients by creating a safe space and establishing a trusting therapeutic alliance in order to help clients feel safe, heard, and achieve their therapeutic goals.
