Mel provides affirming, compassionate therapy for children, teens, adults, families, and military-connected individuals, creating a welcoming space where clients feel respected, supported, and empowered to be their authentic selves.
Mel specializes in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, including transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse individuals. They are committed to providing inclusive, affirming care that honors each client’s unique identity while supporting them through life’s challenges. Mel also offers veteran-centered therapy, helping veterans, active-duty service members, and military families navigate the unique stressors associated with military life, service, and the transition to civilian life.
Mel works with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioral challenges, family conflict, relationship issues, identity exploration, and major life transitions. Whether supporting a child struggling with emotional regulation, a teen exploring identity, or an adult coping with anxiety or trauma, Mel tailors’ treatment to each individual’s goals and strengths.
With a Graduate Certificate in Child and Adolescent Trauma, Mel has specialized training in understanding how traumatic experiences affect emotional development and overall well-being. They utilize evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Play Therapy techniques, to help clients build healthy coping skills, increase resilience, strengthen relationships, and create lasting, meaningful change.
Mel believes therapy is most effective when it is collaborative, supportive, and built on trust. Their goal is to create a safe environment where clients feel heard, valued, and accepted while developing the confidence and skills needed to navigate life’s challenges and build a fulfilling, authentic life.
