Maite Echeandia, M.S., MSSW, is a bilingual and bicultural mental health practitioner, social worker, medical anthropologist, linguist, and multicultural educator dedicated to advancing equitable access to mental health care and education for underserved communities in North Texas. With over two decades of leadership in education and mental health advocacy, she specializes in helping immigrants, multicultural families, adolescents, and transition-aged youth navigate the emotional, cultural, and systemic challenges of migration, identity, trauma, anxiety, depression, and family dynamics.

Her integrative and culturally responsive approach combines evidence-based modalities including Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Narrative Therapy, ACT, DBT, Interpersonal Therapy, Relational-Cultural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness practices, and systemic family therapy. Maite provides individualized support in both English and Spanish, offering immigration evaluations, parenting and life skills classes for the courts, career counseling, gender and cultural identity support, couples therapy, family therapy, and spiritually integrated counseling for grief and life transitions.

As a multicultural specialist and advocate, Maite has developed programs serving high-need populations across multiple systems, bridging gaps between mental health, education, legal, and community services. Fluent in Spanish and English, with professional proficiency in German, Italian, Portuguese, and French, she creates brave, transformative spaces where clients can heal, rediscover purpose, and build resilience across generations and cultures.
