Lilyana has a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Western Kentucky University while also participating as a student-athlete on the Women’s Soccer team. Her background highlights experience working with children, adolescents, and their parents in a behavioral health setting. Having experience in an inpatient behavioral health hospital, Lilyana is adept at working with various diagnoses and life stressors that children and adolescents face, including anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, anger management, life transitions, school performance, behavior issues, and more. Lilyana utilizes a trauma-informed, strength-based, client-centered, and multicultural approach to foster a meaningful therapeutic relationship that stimulates healing and growth for each unique individual. Lilyana implements a variety of approaches including DBT, CBT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, ACT, and more. Although primarily working with children and adolescents, Lilyana understands the significance of operating within a family system and celebrates the inclusion of parents and family members when appropriate. Life can be hard for kids and teens, and Lilyana operates on the belief that therapy can be fun! She creates a caring, comfortable, safe, and accepting environment.
