Ms. Monahan earned her Masters in Social Work from Long Island University in 2021, and her Bachelor’s in Sociology with a Concentration in Human Services from State University of New York at New Paltz. In addition to private practice work, she has experience working in community-based and residential programs. Ms. Monahan works with people of all ages but has a special interest in helping adolescents and their families with; anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, substance use, and behavioral issues. She utilizes talk therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and multi-dimensional family therapy incorporated into a person-centered strengths-based perspective to help build self-esteem and increase coping skills. Ms. Monahan is passionate about creating a safe and collaborative environment and prioritizes a strong therapeutic alliance. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, movies, and spending time with her loved ones.
