Katie Denton, MSW, LGSW

Mental Health Therapist

I received my Master of Social Work degree from West Virginia University in 2010 and am a WV Licensed Graduate Social Worker. I’ve spent the last 7 years working in an intensive out-patient clinic with adults coping with a variety of mood disorders, thought disorders, and borderline personality disorder.

To anyone I sit with, it’s my priority to provide a safe, comfy, and hopeful space. Life is hard, and therapy can feel awkward – I want you to be able to unload, be understood, and process how you need. You can expect to receive so much compassion and encouragement – and supportive challenges and gentle pushes, too. I pull from a variety of theoretical frameworks and believe it’s important to explore both cognitive and somatic strategies. I welcome “walk and talk” sessions!

My clinical interests include anxiety, stress, grief, adjustment/life transitions, and self-esteem struggles. I work with adults of all ages and love to help empower students, seniors, and Highly Sensitive People.

I also love distance running, animals, snacks, and my personal blend of sensitivity and silliness. I’m so honored to meet people in whatever brings them to therapy.
