Karla Boemer, MA, LPCC

Depression IOP Therapist

Clients who see Karla for therapy can expect a compassionate, “person-centered” experience. Karla believes clients embody the wisdom within themselves to integrate and heal even the most seemingly challenging, traumatic, or complicated experiences. She trusts your ability to empower yourself! Using a variety of mindfulness-based, somatic and hypnosis techniques, clients explore deep, subconscious underlying beliefs and programs that contribute to present-day problems.

Karla enjoys working with clients ages 14+, people in transition in their lives (parenting, illness, divorce, career changes) and individuals who, through challenges and trauma, are questioning the deeper meaning of life and ready to explore existential and/or spiritual topics relevant to their current life situations.

Karla is a certified hypnotherapist and uses hypnosis techniques to assist clients to integrate complex trauma and different “parts” of themselves (Internal Family Systems, or IFS), address relationship challenges, access their subconscious mind to heal childhood wounds, and overcome unwanted habits and fears.

Finally, Karla enjoys “nature therapy,” hiking state parks with her almost-adult kids and tending to her flowers and plants. Karla also adores cooking healthy food, baking, cookie decorating, and practicing yoga (working towards yoga teacher training certificate for healing trauma). Karla’s motto: a balanced life is a healthy life!
