Jennifer Sneed, LCSW

Hello! Meet Jennifer. After a successful career in the corporate sector, she returned to school and received her Master of Social Work from Indiana University. She then acquired her License in Clinical Social Work. Guiding people through the therapeutic process is something Jennifer is extremely passionate about. She is an extremely empathetic human being in general and when it comes to helping others. She has been practicing for 15 years and has experienced many things during her years of practice. She knows clients sometimes feel there is a power differential between the therapist and client and does her best to eliminate this, so her clients feel as comfortable as possible. Gaining a client’s trust is very important to her because clients share their deepest emotions in therapy. Jennifer provides a safe place for clients to feel vulnerable. With empathy she uses a combination of therapeutic approaches including client-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, solution-focused, trauma informed care, strengths based and motivation interviewing. She has worked with adolescents, adults and families in community mental health and more recently worked with women in the Tennessee department of corrections, assisting them in getting their lives back on track. Jennifer has experience with anxiety, depression, many forms of trauma, substance abuse, personality disorders, bipolar disorders, psychosis and schizophrenia.

When she isn’t focused on assisting change in the lives of others, Jennifer spends time in nature or on horseback to ground herself and recharge. She also loves spending time with family and close friends, discovering new things, spending time in her garden nurturing her many plants or relaxing in her house with her four dogs, Zima, Tonka, Sumo and Bodie. Jennifer is looking forward to meeting you and making sure you get the care you deserve.
