Heidi is a Provisional Clinical Social Worker (PCSW) whose education includes Associate of Arts degrees in Human Services and Psychology as well as a Certificate of Completion as an Addiction Practitioner from Sheridan College. Further education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Southwest Minnesota State University and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Wyoming. She has extensive experience working with veterans in various capacities while working for the Department of Veterans Affairs in both Sheridan and Cheyenne Wyoming. Additional experience includes working with individuals, families, couples, children, and adolescents while taking a person-centered and strength-based approach to problem-solving the difficulties of life.
Heidi’s clinical interests include anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, panic disorder, stress management, and substance use. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, exploring parenting and family issues, and assists with goal setting and teaching others to develop coping skills.
Heidi has a passion for helping others. She believes in providing others with a safe place to navigate life’s challenges while providing compassion and empathy. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, crafting, gardening, canning, hiking, and spending time with her husband, kids, and her two dogs. She believes that her own life experiences have allowed her the ability to understand and work with others and looks forward to helping you on your journey toward healing and growth.
