Heather is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker and has spent the last 10 years in the mental health field, providing care to many different groups. During undergrad, Heather volunteered at her campus Veteran’s Center and spent time volunteering at the Department of Veteran’s Affairs. Heather also took part in an internship working with individuals on probation/parole. Heather continued her work in mental health working in various capacities providing different levels of care.
Heather’s main focus is to support others through challenging times and enjoys teaching skills to empower clients to learn and embrace who they are as individuals. Heather believes in meeting people where they are at, and helping them get to where they want to be. Heather uses a person-centered mindset to integrate a variety of modalities in her approach to helping others, incorporating cognitive behavior techniques, dialectic behavior therapy, and mindfulness.
Outside of work, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband, two cats, and yellow lab. She also enjoys boating on the St. Croix River and traveling.
