Heather is a therapist that is person-centered and has a compassionate approach. One of her goals is to support others with improving their own understanding of their authentic selves. She believes people are more than their mental health and teaching skills is a way to empower clients to learn and embrace who they are as individuals.
Heather has history of utilizing a variety of modalities with areas of interest including CBT, DBT, and focusing on mindfulness. For appropriate diagnoses, Heather is trained in the use of Virtual Reality. Heather is passionate about serving our military service members, veterans and their families and is a specialized trained provider in military focused care.
Heather views growth and change as being possible, we just need the right tools to do it. Therapy is about being creative in the work. She is passionate about making each client’s time unique to their needs and finding creative ways to build those tool boxes together. By creating an alliance with her clients, Heather likes to establish trust, so they are not alone on their journey.
When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and pets, boating on the St. Croix, or planning her next travel adventure.
