Gissele Garrido is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) under the supervision of Lizet Benitez, LCSW-S and is fluent in English and Spanish. Gissele obtained her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Houston. Gissele has taken courses on Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and play therapy. Gissele has previous experience within school settings, non-profits, and healthcare settings which also includes case management, social-emotional learning, and community engagement.
Gissele enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults with concerns regarding anxiety, stress, depression, life transitions, and trauma. Gissele provides her clients a safe space to process thoughts, feelings, and expression without judgement. Gissele believes in a person-centered and strengths-based approach to encourage clients to empower clients to reach their goals while healing, learning, and growing.
