Gina Shoemaker (she/her), LCSW, MPH brings a wealth of expertise and compassion to her practice. She holds a Master’s in Social Work from Tulane University, a Master’s in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a Bachelor’s in Arts from UCLA.
With a focus on substance use recovery, Gina has extensive experience creating a safe, empowering space for her clients to heal. She combines evidence-based treatments like CBT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based approaches with a deep commitment to meeting clients where they are in their individual journeys. Her warm, approachable nature fosters trust and ensures each client feels supported and understood.
Gina has a particular passion for working with women across life stages, including college students, new mothers, and empty nesters. As a former D1 athlete, she also has a special interest in supporting athletes facing challenges such as performance anxiety, depression, injury recovery, and navigating family dynamics.
In addition to her clinical work, Gina has contributed to international organizations like Save the Children, the British Red Cross, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, with a focus on policy, advocacy, and development.
Outside of work, Gina enjoys spending time with her family, staying active, and cheering on her favorite sports teams—often alongside her two beloved golden retrievers.
