Fantasia Johnson graduated from the Master of Social Work program at North Carolina Central University, where she refined her expertise in clinical practice, program development, and community outreach. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a focus on Human Resources at Peace College, where her passion for leadership and training development first emerged.
With over 20 years of experience in direct practice, Fantasia has demonstrated her ability to bridge clinical excellence with community impact. Her career began as an employment counselor, providing support and guidance to individuals navigating job loss. Over the past nine years, she has worked as a licensed mental health professional, delivering office-based, virtual, and in-home outpatient therapy to individuals and families in rural North Carolina.
Fantasia’s commitment to mental health advocacy is evident in her role as a Mental Health Outreach Coordinator, where she has successfully engaged diverse communities, implemented evidence-based mental health programs, and facilitated training sessions to raise awareness and reduce stigma. Her ability to foster meaningful partnerships with community organizations and leaders has been instrumental in promoting mental health resources and expanding program reach.
Prior to earning her MSW, Fantasia spent more than six years with the Department of Social Services as an Independent Living Program Coordinator. In this role, she supported adolescents and young adults in foster care, equipping them with essential life skills and resources for independence. She also co-founded TEAMUP, a youth entrepreneurship and leadership program, which included a summer camp designed to empower young adults and foster their growth as community leaders.

She serves on the Durham Youth Workforce Development Board, where she contributes to initiatives aimed at equipping young adults with workforce readiness skills. A certified Barre fitness instructor, Fantasia integrates wellness into her advocacy efforts, promoting holistic health and resilience.
