Emma is a Licensed Graduate Social Worker seeing clients who are law enforcement professionals, first responders, military service members/veterans and their families. As the wife of a police officer and veteran, clients can expect to be able to work with someone who understands the culture, lifestyle, pressures, and stressors that come with such high-stress, high-stakes careers.
Emma draws on a number of evidence-based interventions depending on the needs of the client. When working with Emma, you can expect a direct, yet compassionate approach to therapy. You can also expect a big dollop of humor (and possibly a cuss word or two).
Emma is trained in the use of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), a highly effective eye-movement therapy used primarily to treat trauma.
Emma is also level 3 trained in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and is passionate about helping people navigate relationship difficulties. The populations Emma works with often have additional stress and trauma that make those relationship struggles that bit harder to deal with.
Outside of work, Emma loves spending time with her family, playing with her dogs, knitting, and watching British crime dramas and TV adaptations of Jane Austen novels.
Emma sees clients in person and via Telehealth.
