Emelene is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who worked in in-home family counseling in Southeastern Tennessee before settling in Nashville to practice with Ellie Mental Health. She is a big believer in the importance of communication with both self and others and integrates this into her practice.

Emelene works with clients in both individual and relational constellations (families, couples, ethical non-monogamy), utilizing a trauma-informed systemic approach with a focus on experiential, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) methods to address the challenges her clients are facing. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, grief processing, divorce/separation, discernment, blended families, trauma, intimacy issues, self-harm ideation, suicidal ideation, and communication issues.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, film, spending time with her partner and pets, and has recently taken up line dancing.
