Community Based Mental Health Practitioner

Clients can expect a welcoming environment. Therapy is not an easy task by any means. Therefore, creating a space that is accepting, patient, and safe is my goal. Therapy is where healing takes place. I believe therapy is a collaborative process and want my clients to feel comfortable, respected, and dignified in exploring the benefits of allowing oneself to be vulnerable. You deserve to prioritize your mental health and reach your full potential. Allow me to support you along the way.

When working with children, I think it is important to incorporate the family systems approach to therapy. I believe in order to truly foster change within the system each family member deserves their voice to be heard. This approach helps each member understand their role in the system while working to be on the same team. In addition, I am drawn to a strengths-based approach in helping clients recognize what they have overcome and utilize their own inner strengths in other areas of their lives.

I am interested in incorporating creative techniques into the therapeutic environment to ease any uncomfortable feelings that may arise when engaging in therapy. This technique helps make therapy unique to the individual and offers an outlet to express feelings in a way most natural to them.

My areas of interest involve working with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced trauma. I am passionate about working with foster youth and youth involved in the criminal justice system. My area of interest and experience include anxiety, depression, ASD, PTSD, ADHD, and ODD.

I have worked with children, adolescents and adults who struggle with mental health issues and substance use issues. I have worked in residential and outpatient treatment settings. I have experience working with people of diverse cultural backgrounds and LGBTQIA+ youth. Additionally, I have worked with adolescents and adults involved in the criminal justice system.
