Aya graduated from the University of North Texas with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Aya is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Rochelle Schutte, MA, NCC, LPC-S. Aya specializes in working with teens and adults and enjoys helping individuals from minority communities. Using her own background as a Palestinian Arab American, she has worked with minorities groups and refugees, and hopes to continue helping individuals achieve feelings of autonomy and self-efficacy in their own lives. Aya’s approach is a holistic understanding of not only the mind, but also the body and how they interact with one another. She believes it is important to incorporate a person’s interpersonal connections, work life, spirituality, and community connections with their own mental health to truly live a fulfilled life. Her training includes Women’s Emotional Health, Addiction, Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, and Medical Illness.
