Ashley Frutos is a licensed professional counselor, nationally board-certified counselor, and school counselor based in Texas. For the past three years, she has actively contributed to the Texas School Counselors Association (TSCA) board, and currently, she holds the position of elementary vice president, where she advocates for the needs of young students and their families.
Ashley earned her Master of Education in Counseling from Sam Houston State University and is diligently pursuing a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at the same institution.
Through a person-centered framework, Ashley emphasizes empathetic understanding, congruence, and unconditional positive regard in her sessions. She believes in the transformative power of giving individuals a voice and fostering their autonomy, supporting them to embrace their choices and drive their own growth. While person-centered therapy serves as her guiding philosophy, she integrates cognitive behavior therapy, tailoring treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each client.
With a focus on children and adolescents, Ashley has extensive experience helping parents navigate the complexities of parenthood. Her practice is welcoming and inclusive; she is currently accepting new clients aged four and up. She strives to provide a safe space where individuals can express their feelings and learn effective coping strategies to tackle life’s challenges.
