I am a native New Mexican and proud mother of 5 beautiful children. I graduated from the University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Relations in December 2015. Upon graduating with my undergraduate degree, I was very honored to be accepted to the Counseling Program at the University of New Mexico, and graduated with a Masters in Counseling in December 2021.
As a very proud Chicana woman, I am passionate about multicultural sensitivity and I strive to enhance my awareness, knowledge and skills, to best serve my community and clients. I have experience in working with an array of clients, with many different backgrounds and diagnoses. I enjoy working with kids/teens at any age as well as adults and couples. I am a trauma informed therapist and have experience in working with trauma, attachment disorders, ADHD, ODD, depression and anxiety. I have also worked with the LGBTQIA+ community, mostly in working with teens. I enjoy using modalities such as play therapy, sand tray therapy, somatic processing and mindfulness and meditation. As a therapist, I work through the lens of Attachment Theory, as I believe that we as humans are hard wired for connection. I believe that if we are able to understand the root causes of our struggles, then we can better understand why we show up in relationships the way we do.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my kids, karaoke, crocheting, being out in nature and hanging out with friends.
