Dr. Angela Naki, DMFT, LPC Associate


Angela Naki, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate under the supervision of Dr. Michael J. Maxwell, PhD, LPC-S, NCC. She earned her Bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Psychology from American Military University in 2008, followed by a Master’s of Science degree in Counseling Psychology, with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy, from Chaminade University of Honolulu in 2015. In 2022, she achieved her Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy, focusing on Military Family Therapy. Angela’s military background and veteran perspectives enrich her relationships with clients. She is deeply committed to working with families, veterans, military families, and the community, aiming to educate and assist individuals with the most recent treatments and family-centered interventions. Her experience spans working with individuals, families, couples, and groups grappling with family issues, grief, domestic violence, substance and alcohol abuse, anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD. She is proficient in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Family Systems Theory, Brief-Solution Focused Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, Mindfulness techniques, and Relaxation techniques. Angela tailors her client-centered therapy to meet the unique needs of each client. Her goal is to create a safe, supportive space where individuals can explore their emotions, learn coping skills, and build resilience.
