Ana Gonzalez, MS, LMFT

Ana uses a strength-based approach to treatment, integrating a variety of therapeutic modalities to address diverse issues impacting individuals and families. Ana has over 14 years’ experience working with children, teenagers, adults and families experiencing crisis, depression, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, bullying, anger issues, ADHD, sexual abuse, mood disorders, intergenerational child-rearing, substance use, self-harm, gender identity, and intercultural adaptation. Ana will provide the therapeutic support and skills needed as you explore fears and obstacles impacting your personal and or family life. Using Person-Centered Therapy, Ana will help you and or your child develop self-awareness, independence and increased self-esteem. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy will be used to help you identify and eliminate harmful faulty thoughts and beliefs, which could influence your actions and moods. This will improve more constructive thinking and a positive view of yourself. Communication is at times the root of many family and couples’ issues. Ana believes exploring ways you communicate and improving them will benefit your relationships overall. When working with children, Ana uses Play Therapy, an evidence-based approach; children feel most comfortable expressing fears, hopes, and frustrations through play. Ana’s goal is to give you, and or your child, hope as you alleviate emotional pain, gain relief from symptoms, improve daily functioning and learn ways to live a more balanced, healthier life. Ana is also fluent in Spanish and provides services in Spanish when needed. In her free time Ana enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
