Allison Collins, MA, LPC

Therapist

Allison grew up in Arlington before heading to Aggieland to earn her psychology degree from Texas A&M University. She returned to the metroplex to graduate with her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. Allison primarily uses cognitive behavioral therapy strategies. She works with teens and adults, as well as families and couples. Allison has two daughters and a close family she enjoys being around. She served 11 years in public education before making the transition to counseling. Allison has been a counselor in the school, hospital, and non-profit setting which has given her a lot of experience in the world of mental health. She has been in the private practice setting for over 3 years. Similar to her teaching career, Allison is passionate about her client’s learning the “why” behind their thoughts and feelings. Allison uses psycho-education and homework to ensure success outside of the counseling setting. Her desire is to work collaboratively with clients and to have their feedback throughout therapy to see if new strategies and thinking patterns are being successful.
