Addie Marquez, LPA

Therapist

Addie Marquez is a Licensed Psychological Associate that utilizes empirically supported therapy methods (meaning that science has proven they work), combined with your insight, to create a treatment plan that allows you to pursue the stable, healthy life you seek. Addie received both her BA in Psychology Manga Cum Laude and MA in Clinical Psychology at Sam Houston State University while working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Post-graduation, Addie completed her training under Dr. Jim Berkshire, Licensed Psychologist at River Crest Hospital in San Angelo; while there Addie was repeatedly prompted by the community to create a practice that can help treat symptoms of mood disorders and trauma prior to them becoming debilitating. Addie operated her private practice in San Angelo while conjointly working with Texas Tech University Health Science Center’s Texas Child Healthcare Access Through Telemedicine (TCHATT Program) that provides free mental health services to children and families at their school, authored study materials for future mental health clinicians to pass their licensure exams, and taught continuing education courses as well as provided Secondary Stress care to school counselors and other healthcare providers in West Texas. Addie has moved to a part-time consultation role for most of those things to pursue her calling: to be a blessing to the Rockwall community.

Addie has successfully collaborated with clients to reach therapeutic goals ranging from short-term interventions to quite literal life or death; Addie’s expertise and experience working in all levels of mental health care can ensure that no matter what your concern is, you will receive the best treatment plan available. Addie has worked closely with people of all ages, spent years working daily with both civilians and veterans, and is happy to continue providing services for children between 3-17 years old with the equal involvement and support from a steady guardian who respects their child’s right to confidentiality. Addie is also certified to provide group therapy; specifically Unified Protocol (geared towards young children and teens with anxiety), Triple P Parenting for Children (maturity level under 12), and Triple P Parenting for Teens.

Outside of the office, you’ll probably find Addie in the Produce department of H-E-B looking to cook something new, out scouting for good book stores and bakeries, or walking her dog Susie. Friendly notice: you’ve got to say hi to her first!
