A passionate, entrepreneurial and leadership focused Clinic Director for our BRAND NEW location in South Naperville – Plainfield, IL that is passionate about making a positive impact in the community. The perfect candidate will share our vision for improving and expanding access to quality mental health care, while thriving in an environment driven by our core values of authenticity, humor, compassion, creativity, acceptance and determination. The Clinical Director will be highly compensated (salary, commissions, and bonuses!) for accepting responsibility for the overall performance and operation of a clinic composed of approximately 10 - 12 professional therapists. This includes hiring and recruiting fantastic, unique, and fun-loving clinicians, managing clinic performance and client satisfaction, providing training and ongoing developmental support, meeting financial and budget goals, marketing clinical services and building community partnerships and referral pipelines.

Responsibilities & Duties

Responsibilities will include, but are absolutely, definitely and in no possible way limited to: Clinical Participation and Leadership
  • Maintains a working knowledge of trends and research in the Mental Health field.
  • Maintains a clinical caseload of 20%.
  • Participate in Clinical Director Peer Consult Group.
  • Provide 1:1 consultation with all therapy team members to review productivity, caseload, and clinical documentation.
  • Oversee twice monthly peer consultation groups to ensure clinical excellence and alignment with best practices.
Organizational Leadership
  • Collaborate with the President and business leadership along with Ellie Corporate Team to implement all required policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the local Leadership and Ellie Mental Health corporate staff (as needed) to implement strategies for fiscal and clinical efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client care, quality, and effectiveness, and implement changes in collaboration with President and Business Leadership. Become the leader and champion of the overall client experience, providing timely response to concerns raised by clients, clinicians, or external stakeholders.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for building management related issues or concerns.
  • Implement Ellie policies and procedures, including updating clinicians of changes related to Ellie clinical operations (ie, policy changes, HR regulations, IT systems, EHR requirements and best practices, workflows, clinic updates, compliance expectations, etc..
  • Provide training, staff development, and administrative oversight to support the functioning of the Practice.
  • Develop and manage practice office schedules and office supplies.
  • Manage basic clinic Human Resource tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Staff Management & Development
  • Hiring, onboarding, training, supervising and managing therapy team members according to Ellie standards, including handling PTO requests, expense reimbursements, CEU requests, mediating issues and concerns, managing clinic office schedules, reviewing productivity, caseload, and clinical documentation, implementing performance coaching, performance improvement plans, supervision plans, conducting annual performance reviews and handling termination processes.
  • Provide training, staff development, and administrative oversight to support the overall health of the practice including conducting regular consultations with the President and Business Leadership to implement strategies for fiscal and clinical efficiency and to identify opportunities to improve client care, quality and effectiveness.
  • Hold staff compassionately accountable to meeting performance and productivity expectations.
  • Manage staff performance, including implementing Performance Coaching, Performance Improvement Plans, and termination process as needed.
  • Provide clinical oversight to Practice Mental Health Practitioners and Professionals, including signing clinical documentation for pre-licensed providers.
  • Assess ongoing development and training needs and conduct ongoing training as needed.
Program & Service Line Development
  • Lead the strategic planning and growth strategy for mental health programs.
  • Provides leadership in the areas of clinical services, program evaluation, program development and training.
  • Spearhead Practice community outreach, sponsorship and engagement efforts, in collaboration with President and Business Leadership in conjunction with guidance from Ellie Corporate Outreach Team.
  • Collaborate with local leadership and Ellie Corporate Marketing Team to promote clinic’s online visibility.
  • Markets our services and maintains good public relations with higher education institutions developing a pipeline of talented interns and qualified mental health professionals.
  • Represents Ellie Mental Health as the primary liaison with community coalitions that provide wrap around services that include health and mental health services.
  • Develops and maintains strong partnerships with schools, community organizations and key stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills

Education/Licensure:
  • A master’s degree or higher in a behavioral health sciences or related field from an accredited college or university
  •  Fully licensed mental health professional LPC, LCPC,LMHC, LCSW, LMFT) in Illinois for at least 5 years
Experience, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience supervising and/or program development/leadership is essential
  • A unique passion and ability to create strategies to develop and sustain productive relationships with referral partners
  • Strong working knowledge of state requirements regulating mental health practices
  • Vision for recruiting therapist peers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Working understanding of human resource principles, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications, including Office Suite, Outlook, and Teams
