Ellie Family Services is a “behavioral health” agency that takes a fresh, no B.S. approach to treating mental health, and we are now looking to add a Unicorn Medical Biller Specialist to join our team in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. We need YOU to help us continue to support our community!

Clinic Description

We have 15 locations across the Twin Cities and outer Minnesota are, and are continuously growing in the community, by adding new brick-and-mortar locations, and through the development of community-based services throughout the metro. We currently do billing for psychotherapy (in-clinic and in-home), ARMHS, CTSS, Medication Management & Targeted Case Management. Responsibilities & Duties

  • Post insurance payments to the system & make sure ERAs balance
  • Ensure documentation is attached to all claims
  • Review all claims for accuracy and submit to insurance companies
  • Resolve all rejected & denied claims
  • Follow up on outstanding insurance invoices
  • Allocate client payments
  • Assist in handling pre-authorizations
  • Submit claim appeals to insurance companies
  • Maintain system by adding/updating CPT codes, payers & new clinic locations
  • Coordinate with HR Specialist for completion of payroll
  • Respond to staff questions regarding insurance & claims-related issues

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of 3+ years’ experience as a Medical Biller in a Mental Health setting
  • Solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records
  • Must have the ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Outstanding problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Ability to teach, train, supervise other billers
  • A passion for working in the mental health field
  • Experience using web-based electronic health billing system is required.
  • Certified Medical Biller
