Dr. Matt Smith is a clinical psychologist specializing in therapy services for families, individual adults, and adolescents. He addresses a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, AD/HD, and family conflict. He is trained in Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), a parenting method that is very effective for challenging behaviors. For those who wish to integrate their spiritual practices or beliefs into therapy, he also offers faith-based counseling.
Dr. Smith grew up in the Memphis area and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Memphis after completing his bachelor’s degree at Ouachita Baptist University. Throughout his 30-plus year career, he has worked in diverse therapy environments, including church-based counseling, private group practice, and community-based counseling. Most recently, from 2017 to 2024, he was the Clinical Director of Counseling at Memphis Family Connection Center.
